Northern Rock Foundation is an independent grant making charity which aims to tackle disadvantage and improve quality of life in the North East and Cumbria. The Foundation has now closed its grant programmes and is no longer accepting applications. Trustees are preparing for the likely closure of the Foundation, probably within eighteen months from January 2015.

MHF

The Millfield House Foundation aims to reduce inequality by funding work which helps to change policy for the better.  Despite the campaigns over many years, successive governments and society as a whole have failed to give sufficient priority to housing policy and provision. Gross inequality in income and spiralling costs make it very difficult, if not impossible, for people on low incomes to afford a place of their own, which particularly increases the vulnerability of young people. Youth Homeless North East are one of the few strategic partners of the foundation. For more information on The Millfield House Foundation Strategic Partners click here

Garfield Weston

Garfield Weston Foundation are a family-founded, grant-making trust which has been supporting charities across the UK for over 50 years.  The Foundation supports a broad range of organisations and activities that share a commitment to making a positive impact to the lives of the communities in which they work, and that are driven by a desire to achieve excellence.

The Big Lottery Fund is the largest funder of community activity in the UK. It puts people in the lead to improve their lives and communities, often through small, local projects. It is responsible for giving out 40% of the money raised by National Lottery players for good causes. Every year it invests over £650 million and awards around 12,000 grants across the UK for health, education, environment and charitable purpose. Since June 2004 it has awarded over £8 billion to projects that change the lives of millions of people.
