The Millfield House Foundation aims to reduce inequality by funding work which helps to change policy for the better.  Despite the campaigns over many years, successive governments and society as a whole have failed to give sufficient priority to housing policy and provision. Gross inequality in income and spiralling costs make it very difficult, if not impossible, for people on low incomes to afford a place of their own, which particularly increases the vulnerability of young people. Youth Homeless North East are one of the few strategic partners of the foundation. For more information on The Millfield House Foundation Strategic Partners click here

It is responsible for giving out 40% of the money raised by National Lottery players for good causes. Every year it invests over £650 million and awards around 12,000 grants across the UK for health, education, environment and charitable purpose. Since June 2004 it has awarded over £8 billion to projects that change the lives of millions of people.

The Community Foundation is a charity that champions giving to make a difference to people and communities in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland and across North East England. It awards grants through nearly 300 different funds set up at the Community Foundation by people and organisations who want to make a difference. Through their generosity, the Foundation invests in effective voluntary groups and provide support to individuals.
