1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Princes Trust - Cheryl's Trust Centre

Since 2016, YHNE have been working and consulting with young homeless people in the North East about what effect New Psychoactive Substances (NPS – Former ‘Legal Highs’) have had on their lives and what affect the ban, introduced in May 2016, has had on their use and supply.

We have been working with young people to co-produce an awareness raising session to deliver to young people and professionals across the North East. These 2 hour session are free of charge and look at the following:

  • Overview of the NPS Project – what have we found?
  • What are NPS?
  • Why do YP use substances?
  • Myth busting
  • Legal Implications
  • Wider risks associated with NPS/Substance use

The sessions will be delivered by the Regional Project Officer from YHNE and we are hoping that there will be support from Young People involved in its development. We are aiming to deliver one session in each local authority area.

If you are interested in hosting one of these sessions then please get in touch with YHNE on to discuss this further. We will also be contacting some projects directly.
