Hours: 22.5 hours per week (5 hours/day Tuesday-Thursday, 7.5 hours Friday)
Holiday: 20 days plus Bank Holidays (pro rata)
Salary: £16,755 (pro rata)

About us

YHNE is an independent organisation driven by a community of young people, partners from local authorities in the north east, the Third Sector, registered providers and associated organisation’s. We support partnership and collaboration between young people and other organisations and providers in the youth homelessness sector. We believe ‘Every young person has the right to a home’.

About the opportunity

We are looking to recruit a Administrative and Communications Officer to work with the Administrator to support effective administration and management of the organisation. The successful applicant will be required to:

  • To manage the administrative, financial and clerical support to staff within the
  • To support the review, maintenance and implementation of the organisations
    policies and procedures with the Administrator.
  • To be responsible for Health and Safety within the organisations ensuring policies
    and procedures are up to date and acted upon.
  • With the Administrator, ensure all meetings are adequately supported through the
    provision of preparing papers, agenda, taking minutes or notes of working groups
    and meetings as appropriate
  • To support and enhance our social media activity digital platforms i.e. Facebook,
    Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, blog.
  • To assist in the production and distribution of our regular newsletter
  • To work with the team in ensuring that promotional materials are kept up to date.
  • To implement administrative procedures including car mileage claims, stock,
    equipment, requisitions, official orders, sickness and absence returns.

About you

To work with us you will be a qualified and experienced administrative officer who can demonstrate the following: 

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Good teamworking skills and the confidence to lead and motivate a team
  • Experience of content management systems such as Survey Monkey,
    Eventbrite, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, WordPress, YouTube for example
  • Skills in software including Office 365, Photoshop and video editing Apps
  • Support us in digital and printed assets, such as reports, artwork, films and

A familiarity with legislation in the areas of governance, equality and diversity and data protection is also useful.
