Salary: £23,758.99 per annum (Fixed Term)
37.5 hours per week. Newcastle based and working across the region.

We are looking for an enterprising and flexible individual to join YHNE at an exciting time in its development within the region.

YHNE is a collective of providers, local authorities, other organisations and most importantly young homeless people committed to working together to identify and promote solutions to address young people’s needs affected by homelessness.

This is an important position in supporting the delivery of key work strands and crucially involving young people. Sessions will be delivered in a co-production manner where young people use their personal experience, concerns and hopes to inform the sessions.

Experience and knowledge of the homelessness sector is desirable. A proven record of working with young people is essential. The role will require strong oral and communication skills including IT, excellent organisation, an ability to work on your own initiative, and prioritise your own work-load. You will work alongside the YHNE team with responsibility for:

  • Leading on the development and delivery of projects with young people and partners across the north east.
  • Planning, organisation and delivery of regional and sub-regional workshops/events.
  • Amalgamation of research, surveys and workshop/event findings.
  • Increasing engagement in Youth Homeless NE by young people, local authorities, service providers, policy makers.
  • To act as a regional lead on current and trending themes relating to youth homelessness for YHNE key stakeholders.
  • Representing YHNE at strategic meetings and events to look at potential funding opportunities and work strands.
  • To line manage volunteers current work strands.
  • To manage administrative systems that enable effective organisation and management of the project.
