Working with Statutory Mental Health Services: A guide for housing and homelessness staff

When you support someone in distress, or with a mental health problem, what can you do? This guidance aims to increase the confidence and knowledge of teams who have concerns about the mental health of people they support. It describes the work of different statutory services and explains how to make referrals, outlining the factors involved in decision-making and support, as well as how to build better partnerships between homelessness and mental health teams.

This guidance is written by mental health professionals from EASL with input from the Mental Health Interventions and Rough Sleepers Steering Group, hosted by Pathway.
