Update: Newcastle West Jobcentre closure

Staff from Newcastle West Jobcentre (Conderdum House, 171 West Road, NE15 6PL) have relocated and they ceased operating from Condercum House at 5pm on Friday 31 August. From Monday 3 September, all Jobcentre services previously delivered from that location have moved to Newcastle City Jobcentre (1 Cathedral Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1EE).

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have stated that flexibility will be given if claimants attend Newcastle City Jobcentre late in the first few weeks to account for them navigating new bus routes and extended journey times. They are also offering an outreach service from Monday 3 September in West End Customer Service Centre on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and in Outer West Customer Service Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This will be subject to regular review.

All DWP freephone telephone numbers remain the same: Universal Credit ‘full service’ 0800 328 5644 and ‘legacy’ benefits (Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Income Support) 0800 169 0310. For information about benefit advice services in Newcastle and benefit offices, visit the Newcastle City Council website.
